I don't have a solution, having constant spawning AI with good gear is a really tricky problem. People are really really good at exploiting AI. You can only make them harder with more roboty aim, more of them, or more random spawns/behavior. So I'd be curious if toning down their aim and trying out way more of them with more random behavior improved things.
