as a player scav, u can't level up ur pmc. and leveling in general. scav levels is seperate.
scavs have different extractions most of the time.
scavs spawn later instead of start of a raid.
scav bosses can still attack you.
as a scav, do not ruin ur reputation.
scav rep can be increased if u kill PMC or Extract. it can also increase if u kill a betrayal scav, which are the ones that shoot other scavs
scav rep can be decreased if u accidently kill another scav or shooting at one
scav raids are really good to use especially when ur new to the game. but dont get too comfortable with them basically

i would advise against a vpo, its acuracy isnt good especially with the apm acuracy debuff. to kill rogues you often gotta be make 200m+ shots so a mosin is better i'd say
ideally you'd take something more like an sv 98 it not that much more expensive and you can put decent scopes on it easier
