i am relatively new (lv 20) ive been grinding customs mostly and i wanna kinda get into the woods sniping, but i need to hit 22 to get my prefer gun consistently from traders

my current issue is that i kinda just dont feel like i understand gunplay properly

so i wanted to ask if theres maybe a new map i should pick up

where i actually end up in pmc fights, cause in customs ill p much only encounter scavs

in most runs i just kill like 5+ scavs and like i do still sometimes die to them but i generally do a lot better nowadays against them, but pmcs are just like the issue

i do have a few nice weapon builds i can bring against players too, its just i really dont know what map to learn and play next to get this experience

any recommendations? (:

i tried looking into interchange but the maps kinda just a headache, learning all the loot spots and stuff :( i saw pestifys video, he recommends reserve but the video is kinda outdated so i wanted to ask what ppl here think about it

Greetings, jelly!
The map of choice for the majority of players tends to be CUSTOMS. Its terrain varies from both hillsides to CQB houses and warehouses (not to mention the hot pvp area DORMS).
If you want to get into sniping, at such level, I’d honestly recommend you to go for woods. I don’t think this would be the optimal map for you to learn the basics of PvP and gunplay, tho. A lot of factors come into play in a big map where campers and snipers lurk in every bush or hill.
Regarding you finding scavs most of the time: an advanced player will LEAVE the scavs alive. As you work your way around the map you’re playing, scavs will often be seen patrolling. At an early level, I’d kill them, but you have to know that as you’re taking shots in a certain position, you’ll be drawing potential PMCs in your location. How about setting up a trap for them? Kill a few scavs and find a sweet spot to camp in. They’ll come for you if no shots were fired before.
In Tarkov there are thousands of variables when you’re into a raid. Keep playing and you’ll eventually know how PMCs and their spawns flow throughout the raid. Don’t forget to check YouTube videos on PvP. Good luck!
