I ran the UMP-45 pretty much exclusively to level 15– buy knives at Fence and trade to Peacekeeper

does OK at killing with leg shots and low enough recoil to hit faces reliably. Does basically nothing against body armor though so don’t shoot chests.

If you find some 7.62x39 PS ammo in raid, SKS is a good option too (scavs carry a lot of it)
