-Money is very easy to make. If you want to guarantee profit, you can always enter the cycle of scavving and offline-PMCing/practice mode while your scav is on cooldown. Scavving can only make you money, you can't lose anything. Offline is great for learning maps, cache runs, and getting good at killing scavs and scav bosses. This cycle is great to simply build up lots of money while learning - which makes online PMCing far easier.
-Hipfire is exceptional, using a flashlight and hipfiring is a hugely important mechanic to start practicing. Get a good feel for it in offline mode and you'll thank yourself later.
-Stop running everywhere - sprinting is very loud and gives you away, it provides a lot of opportunity to ambush you. Whenever you're in high-traffic areas, be very disciplined about when you sprint.
-Have a goal in mind every raid, plan a route and try to stick roughly to it. If you notice a route failing 3 times in a row at a specific spot, change that part of the route. If you change it after only 1 failure you're just relying on luck and you'll die a lot more. This makes it easier to keep oriented and focused in-raid
-Pick your fights, don't be afraid to retreat - it often gives you a better chance to hit back later.
-Only right hand peak if you have a choice. It exposes far less of you than peeking left.
-Ammo is more important than guns, but you need to know how to use what ammo you have. High damage vs High penetration is a critical difference - use an ammo chart.
-Positioning is everything. In combat, frequently reposition, this is just one of the reasons map knowledge is critical and should be built and practiced ASAP.

Don't worry too much about that.
If you're just getting started I would use these maps https://mapgenie.io/tarkov
They'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die, try to have fun with it.

I’d recommend learning all the hidden stashes on Woods, Shoreline, and Customs. Those are all safe loot runs, but also they’ll benefit you well into the future since it’s just free loot you grab as you traverse the map for other purposes.

I no longer go into raids with my goal being to loot stashes, but just by knowing where they are, I consistently make good money while tasking just by hitting a couple and surviving.

Both are viable, you just have to use them differently
If you're using penetration forward ammo - you know you can aim for head and chest.
If you're using damage forward ammo, you should be aiming for legs, face, or other exposed areas.

100% insure. You’ll be amazed how much of your stuff comes back the next day. Also get in the habit of insurance frauding parts of your kit as you find better items in raid. Kill one player, take their armor/rig/headphones/bag + hide yours and suddenly you have two kits 🙂
