Solo play is a game of tug and war, the more room you give them to corner you the harder it will be for you to even react, which is why that element of surprise you had was your biggest contender

Even if there was another guy in that team, you know EXACTLY where they are gonna be coming at you from, and they vaguely know where you are

you clapped the first guy nicely, i would of probably pre fired the door way but honestly the sound wasnt great on where he was once he got close to the door, you hear the initial foot steps of both pmcs but 2nd guy comes through the door almost silently compared to the 1st guy, just knowing its a team though i would have still taken a couple of shots just to try stop him for a second, so you could drop back on a right hand peek, that or you just had to push instantly once the first guy come in - knowing its a two man you have to fight it regardless so its not the easiest of choices

I mostly play solo, its fun playing with a team, and if I want to I can easily rat out an extract, but its not about extracting for me, I just cant seem to win fire fights which is what I want to learn, and losing guns as a solo from losing firefights just makes me have to do more "farming" runs

Look around, find, and run at the huge plateau rock right in the center of the map, circle it until you find the line of boulders pointing south, follow them and you'll be able to see the plane crash from the southernmost part of the boulder line. Jaegers camp is just off the nose of the plane to the left and the note is at the base of it. Grab it and head to your extract.

learn the maps one at a time. use online maps and play in offline mode for risk free exploration. that will also teach you how to deal with scavs

Start with Woods or Customs
Woods is harder to learn but safer.
Customs is easier to learn but more dangerous.

Use these maps - they'll look cluttered at first. Hit "Hide All" on the left-hand toolbar, then scroll down and only toggle on "Extractions" and "Locations". That'll give you a pretty good look - feel free to toggle on some loot options as you go

Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.
Good luck - you will die a lot, try to have fun with it.
