I don’t think I’ve ever used the map to find loot that much, it’s something you can learn pretty quickly if you just play as a scav a handful of times

When you play as a scav you spawn in with random gear, can’t make progress towards any of your quests and you spawn about halfway through the match instead of the start

So basically your only goal is to get loot and get out

normal scavs are friendly until you attack one (including a player scav), and there's a karma system for scavs

and your skills are independent from your pmc (but are still leveled between raids)

You don’t lose anything if you die, you can just go in again with a new set of random gear however there’s a cooldown between scav raids
