@runic siren I'm a newbie too, I'm just trying to go around the low traffic areas around the map. I sometimes camp a spot for 5-10 minutes and go on slowly from there to whatever I need to do. And run away from gunshots obviously if I'm questing. I also do woods stash runs, they've been pretty reliable.

I recommend referring to the maps on the wiki and working to segment and identify landmarks to help you navigate. Woods actually has really good markers such as the power lines, river, and sniper rock that can be used to navigate even if you're not 100% certain.
