I’m also new but I think I know what’s going on so load into a offline match and just look for gear then look up extract places and don’t forget to get the free gear in your messages after a while load into your scav and go on raids I would recommend not shooting anyone except bots

Offline mode is perfect for learning extracts, looting, getting used to controls & Fighting against AI Scavs, use it for a while until you're comfortable with it all. Move into Scav runs which are different to PMC. They're online and let you get used to playing the maps with other players (remember, play scav peacefully unless you are actually hit first). Move onto PMC runs & Start progressing through tasks. Use the Wiki to help you 😄

Yeah, that's all I want is to learn the map. PvP is a whole different ballgame.

I refer to the map genie map but sometimes I have absolutely no idea which direction is which to actually travel anywhere. I randomly walk around killing the practice npcs until it's close to time out then I leave and do it again. Think what I need to do is unlock the compass I hear we unlock after a certain quest or level.

The wiki maps show the actual structures a lot better than mapgenie, you could use those instead

honestly, i learned the maps before i even got the compass....just learn how to look for landmarks....it shouldnt take more then a few runs to start to be able to quickly realize where you are in the map and navigate from there

once you know where you are, be able to look at the map, and set off in a direction you want to go +/- a few degrees

Make sure to actually check the directions on the map though, a lot of maps have fucked up directions

gl, youll start to get a feel for what kind of landmarks you should be looking out for

and in a few hours it should come natural to you...i learned customs and woods really well...then did shoreline for the first time and was able to very easily navigate because i got used to what to look for
