You don't get a whole lot at ll2 ammo wise but I'll list a few big ones. 5.45 PP is on LL2 prapor its decent not all that crazy, do be aware 5.45 isn't all that good. 7.62x39 nothing has really changed here honestly PS still works really well and you can't really go wrong with it. Prapor also as T-46 for 7.62x54r, its up to you if you want to use it over LPS, personally I would.
Gun wise the AK works great so does the SKS too, if you aren't opposed to leg meta shotguns like the 155 works great

Yeah they could although I'd be careful with it. BSG does have a system in place that flags suspected RMTers if they drop too much in raid. Not saying it will happen and from what I hear it takes a lot of build up to get there. Realistically not something to be scared of but important to know

But it also does very little damage, and no one but scavs uses class 3 or below.
So it's only good for headshots. Considering you have access to better ammo and guns at your level (UMP, SKS, VPO) it's just not worth using, however, as a beginner - why not? Everything is good to practice and play around with

There are many ways of getting some amounts of good ammo before you can straight buy it, from quests of in raid etc, once you have a little you can run it as a DRM or something similar, i wouldn't sell an m4 for 40k

Reserve scav runs you can pickup some decent ammo. Focus on getting scav kill quests done then you learn the mechanics for coming up on PMC's even though they are harder kills.

Well no, it can be very fast but that comes with experience. Do as many quests as you can, loot everything, kill scavs, etc
A good trick is to literally loot anything and then just drop it, just so you get the exp from looting, every little bit helps
