It’s kind of just trial and error starting out. Early game, you have some priorities for quests and hideout upgrades. You can even loot junk needed for later quests and hold onto it, accept the quest later, and immediately turn it in.
Otherwise, everything is roubles per slot for the most part. Just loot everything and figure out what’s worth it and what’s not.

Its something that you will learn over time, the more you play the more your eyes will get used to the maps and notice things that seem out of place (stuff that is moving that shouldn't be and things like that). Better positioning comes with map knowledge, you can win so many fights by just knowing the map better and what ways you can move around and get behind someone.
All of this is to say that while there are some great youtube tutorials about all of this, it will mainly come with time

The best are 704 and mutant. 704 less recoil mutant higher rpm. You can still mod akms and 103s to reasonable recoil too. Sks by default has pretty good recoil but only semi and bad mags.
