Head into a practice mode on one of those maps, toggle on some AI scavs, and try to get a feel for the map, movement, gunplay, scav killing, etc.
When you're ready - try to scav into one of those maps and actually get some loot out.
Then you can take your PMC in and try to do some quests or loot or simply survive.

You seem to be 'jumping in the deep end' so to speak, which isn't the worst way to learn but it can get pretty demoralizing

For durability btw theres a lot to look out for. Theres a max durability for every armor piece, and if its at 100% then it has the highest chance of stopping a bullet from penning, that is if the armor rating stops it. Each time it gets hit it loses some amount of durability, and the farther it is from 100% then the lower chance itll stop a bullet. when you repair it itll max out at some number, but that doesnt make it 100% again. Also, some armor (like the gen4) gets too expensive and too big of a gap from its max durability to repair, so it usually only takes 1-2 raids to render it useless

Yea just keep in mind the average player is able to pen lvl 3 and high chance for lvl 4, so it may not be good against players but it can still stop most scav rounds

yeah, I noticed that the AI scav have terrible aim but when they start shooting at you more it's like they get more accuracy
