I'm fairly sure all grenades in the game besides impacts are fragmentation grenades. Most grenades are. The explosion would break bones, shatter ear drums and propel you, maybe blow limbs off, but fragmentation is what causes major bleeding, lacerations, and instant death (head)

The radius determines from what distance is an instant kill and what distance causes minor damage possibly fractures. Whether it's the explosion or the fragments literally doesn't matter.
