A definite way to tell if it's a recipe is the timer of the sacrifice. But from your reaction I'm assuming it was something not special the first time you did it, right?

given your first kills were five minutes in i am inclined to not believe this. it's a well known fact that scavs won't spawn in the first minutes of a raid if the cultists are there, but they're not stopped from spawning. Cultists can spawn, you can spend the first minute not finding them, and then find them later after scavs have started spawning.
