in my opinion the armpit hitbox is the perfect implementation of what they intended

the person wearing armor can significantly reduce the size of the armpit hitbox by positionning himself in a way that is directly facing to the enemy, avoiding angles that expose his sides and mindfully covering his left and right when he runs across streets

where this system fails is the {chest} and neck hitboxes

You minimise the whole thing as if you are helpless dummy in the middle of all this. Im sorry but if you go out there with high tier armor yet carry no guns and just stand still then in whatever way youve died it will be on you.

If we take previous armor mechanics then you could potentially make a blunder and then get away with it because the enemy couldnt pen your armour. If we take new armor mechanics you making a blunder can just result in getting fucked because the enemy has the chance to actually penetrate now.

Same goes if you were the one shooting first and the enemy was the person doing the blunder. The risk is on both sides now which makes the game balanced like you said. Having ultra good close to always no pen armor isnt balanced at all, having armor that can protect well enough whilst still being vulnerable is balanced

I'd much rather be able to kill a person with any gun and ammo I want while also having the chance to get killed by someone with a gun and ammo which he wanted to play with despite the fact I had carried good armor

Not to mention that this pushes you not to just get rich and buy the most expensive good equipment out there and get away with almost anything you encounter because your armor is dummy proved, but it also pushes you to use other ways to get advantage in a fight. Tactical playstyle has certainly become quite viable these recent years because things such as recoil inertia and armor are being fixed.

i think where we differ is the definition of "a chance to kill"

you always have a chance to kill someone, helmets were only made stronger this wipe and they were always a player's way to kill any geared enemy

if you had a shit gun with shit ammo, but aimed significantly better, you could still facetap someone easily, or hit them in a visor enough to disorient them and finish them off

i'm all for skill expression, this is not it. A player does not have a "chance to kill you", his gun does. With the recoil rework, having really low recoil makes you actively need to aim more than someone with mediocre recoil, so taking the average setup into account, a guy with a mid gun and a mid setup is more likely to just get lucky and kill you than before

Not to mention the negative effect this has had on the game's overall health

wether the game was made to "sprint like cod" or not, it is now significantly more difficult to just play the game as the last bastion standing between you and death to rats was the ability to buy good armor and counter their playstyle

now, if you play the game, you might tank them or you might die, so the solution is to just not play the game, play dead by daylight, hide in a bush, hide in a door, don't make noise, don't leave any darn scratch marks, shh, he's coming, the dumbass is actually making noise in escape from tarkov, what an idiot, he is moving his character

Mostly personal preference. Definitely use a laser until you get good at point-firing, then switch to an IR flashlight like the tan holosun.
