Well to be fair, you could argue that since BSG isnt the first to launch a game and have crappy servers, they shouldve been able to foresee an influx and prepare more servers

This is a common speculation - and yes they can use Wipe Data to "foresee"
However servers are not instant, they take roughly 72 hours - 3 weeks to prepare.
I know it sucks, but BSG is figuring it out - everyone will tell you BSG handled this wrong, but otherwise everything else is fine.

I've been interesting in EFT since 2016 closed beta and if you paid attention you'd know what is said isn't 100 accurate often.
