so i did a bunch of build workshopping, and IMO you almost always want to use short barrels on basically every gun if you're min-maxing. like for example with the HK416 the only reason you WOULDNT want to use the the 11" barrel is if you're using a 100 round mag (in which case you want the 9") or you're doing long range sniping. if all you're worried about is evoergo/recoil then the recoil gained by going to a longer barrel has a far larger ergo impact than accomplishing the same effect on recoil using different handguards and stocks

what that says to me is that BSG do not understand their own gun build mechanics
