Hey can anyone help? I'm trying to redownload Tarkov onto my C: drive since its so much slower on harddrive. I have about 65 gigs of free space on my C: drive and it says tarkov should only take up about 20gb or so around 27gb max. Once the game is finished downloading, however, the launcher starts to unpack the game and quickly goes from 27gb of used space to using the entire 65gb of space. I then get an error message saying no space on C: drive. I realize that it's probably the TEMP files inside of the EFT launcher that takes up all that extra space, but what can I do to even fully download and unpack the game? It seems no matter how much extra space I have, unpacking the game always uses up all my space.

so frustrating considering ive deleted 80% of my SSD in order to try to fit enough space for the game just so I can load in to matches without waiting 15 minutes

Something is preventing the game from running. Either it's a filesystem problem, windows is corrupted, the drive is corrupted, there's an antivirus preventing the game from running (most likely the cause) or another issue that is not easily fixable.

Windows has a "reset this pc" feature in the start menu.

But I would suggest backing up your data first.

Since you said it happened right after a windows update I'm leaning more towards windows being corrupted.

dlss gives you a nice bump on the higher resolutions (2k and up) but has less effect on lower res. personally my game runs like doodoo even though i have a 3060ti but i think thats CPU/ram. you can probably expect to get a jump to 150-200 frames

You need to start the game from the launcher. Else you get this error. With the game files installed you can pick an existing install to avoid installing again.

When you have the launcher running choose the button named "choose existing installation" and choose the folder that has the escapefromtarkov.exe file in it.

It will scan the game files and allow you to press play in the launcher to play without that error.
