Just tested the game, no problem running an SSD here (970 NVME). Only the normal spike to 20% usage when loading loot.
SSD definitely isn't the "cause" of the problem as there's several of us playing atm with no issues, I'd try uninstalling the latest Windows Update (KB4556799) / doing an integrity check of the game.

@noble island 16gb of ram is pretty much the recommended for games nowadays and will generally make your game and OS run "smoother", less hiccups and such (apart from the random freezes everyone still gets). Faster clocked ram has been shown to increase FPS, but not always by a lot. I'd still suggest you upgrade to 16gb though.

@jagged niche Not sure if resolution would have an impact on crashes but as you said it doesn't hurt trying these things, computing is all about problem solving.
Firstly I'd make sure all your drivers are update to date (gpu, sound, network, storage controllers) and also see if you have a BIOS update available, also try disabling your AV whilst playing. Finally, do you have any overlays running (discord, nvidia, RTSS / msi afterburner) if so, try disabling them. You can also do other minor checks like "sfc /scannow" in powershell or a DISM if that fails. These are just basic steps I know but sometimes overlooked.

Just had a question... I had some scav run AK stop firing when the weapon was on full auto after maybe 3-4 rounds. I didnt get a chance to mess around with it, as i was in a close quarters fight. @blissful wyvern Instead of reinstalling do an integrity check from the launcher (arrow next to your name), you can also clean the cache whilst there. Make sure you have atleast 10% free on your SSD and maybe run TRIM on windows (defrag / optimise). Check "use only physical cores" in the GAME tab in settings.
Freezing is just a part of the game at the moment, they were fine with the last patch but this latest one is bad in regards to stutters / freezes.

Hey, I just killed a guy as a pistoling (I guess I picked up an AK to do it) but he was fully kitted and guess how I did it? I went into a game with a bug going. I closed myself in a room, but because there is a render issue that shows the door still open, I could see clearly when a player could come for me, so guess how he died. That is right, I could see through but he lacked the bug so I wont the fight and his full kit for the price of nothing using an AK I found on a gun rack. Fix the god damn bug that shows doors open for some when they are clearly shut and fix the fucking bug that prevents you from opening/closing doors and containers only once per game. These occur at game launch because something isn't read and there is a lack of some sanity check cause the devs are too lazy to input a system like that, so now while they are taking extra time on wipe you can tell them about this. If I see any other bugs I encounter more than once I'll report them here and if I see any like these which I encountered 10+ patches ago I'll make sure I'm as unhappy as the guy I just killed.

If the game is stuttering like frame skips and drops, then it is most likely an issue on your end. Check internet connection for lag, then graphics settings in-game and graphics drivers on your PC for updates

You should download "bluescreenview" it'll show what driver is causing the crash for example "nvlddmkm.sys" etc.
If it's related to "nvlddmkm.sys" you can download Display Driver Uninstaller, boot into safe mode, run the program and it will completely uninstall all your drivers, then redownload and install them.

Hey there, hoping I can get some help with this problem, because its ruining the game for me... Nearly every time I get into a fight, my game freezes for a solid 1-10 seconds. Game runs smooth as butter otherwise. Mostly happens when I'm fighting PMC's with high RoF weapons in close quarters, especially in dark rooms. It just turns me into a loot piΓ±ata in close range engagements. I feel like maybe it has something to do with muzzle flash? I've been able to replicate it a few times in offline raids but it's never as severe as when it happens online. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem! Thanks in advance for any help! π

@eager cradle @fluid harness Go to the BSG Launcher and click the arrow by your name, then click "integrity check" and let it run. Also, download Display Driver Uninstaller, boot into safe mode, run the cleaner then boot back into non-safe mode and download your GPU drivers fresh.

hey, just to note the launcher is broken on install. It won't let me select servers, and all fail to ping. Auto selection lets me with anywhere between 200 to 500 ms, so had to hack the JS to allow manual selection and got 50 to 100ms

yo i was just playing shoreline, i come out of weather with a load of my nice kit, got some loot, theres no one around, and i suddenly start taking damage. its identical to if i got shot but there is absolutely no one in the vicinity and there is absolutely no sound cues like gunshots or bullet impacts. i just walk out of weather and die. i think this is a connection problem, but there were no indicators that i had bad connection beforehand. i had good ping (30 ish) and there was no running on the spot as usually occurs with disconnects. i was killed by a PMC by the name of DudaSeq, with a NATO weapon (5.56 calibre bullet) and i was shot in the arms, legs and thorax which killed me. again there were ZERO audio OR visual clues, i just die. somebody help

That happens quite often. I have some clips of me dying in one shot from seemingly nothing. They're using long range suppressed weapons. I'm not sure if they actually made the gunshot noise travel at the speed of sound, but often at long range you'd hear the bullet impact before the actual gunshot (IRL). Bottom line is you are getting sniped at really long range with suppressed weapons, @dapper anvil

Invisible might not be as far off of an idea as most people think. I joined a match with two friends, and to one of us, the other two were completely invisible and we could not interact with him. Something similar could have happened to you. But I still think it was suppressed weapons. Maybe the shots that didnt hit were able to fly far enough away before impacting something that you couldnt hear the impact

The invisibility thing has happened to me, too. However I doubt they did because when the first shot hit me I only took damage. No sound. No matter how suppressed and quiet they are, you hear the bullet smack if it hits you.

Hi, since the last update my game is unplayable. I get a lot of stutter, in the menu and in game. In game I am at 1 fps when moving, when things are "loaded" i get my usual 100+ fps, when i start moving, scoping etc... i'm back to 1 fps (it feels more like 0 fps by the way), and let's not talk about opening the menu (30 secs to 1 min stutter)

After reading a couple of reddit threads and guides I discovered I had to manually change the FreeSync frequency range of the monitor
After having done so, it worked on the Pendulum test, Overwatch, COD, etc. no flickering, exept EFT; it still flickers when starting the game, when going to settings, when starting a new istance etc., but at least it doesn't seem to flicker in-game ever, but you never know @short canyon

The reason I ask is a lot of the time EFT resets itself from Fullscreen to Borderless even though it says "Fullscreen", you need to toggle it back via in-game settings every once in awhile.

it seems to just be a bounding issue to the game when running dual monitors (at least for me), so no fix with out a 3rd party program i think, or just playing with 1 monitor

tarkov generally might have had its worst patch yet, since this last patch I've run into multiple cheaters, matches that have completely desynced and all the players are invisible, and like @lucid forum said since the update the lag is causing the loading to become worse, i can load into a match in anywhere 2 to 12 minutes depending on the map, the amount of ram tarkov is soaking up is unbelievable.

Also my game will load in and in less then a minute I'll be stuck seeing the first thing I saw. I can move and shoot but can't see anything. Only way to fix is to restart PC which sucks when people rush spawns.

@covert plover I have that exact same problem when late loading onto some maps, let me know if find a perma fix
I don't have the game on an SSD but neither do my friends and I still take an extra 1-5 minutes of loading time, often taking a long time to load the game's loot and creating loot pools. Loading onto larger maps also have slightly longer map loading times.
Not to mention I have had this game on several different hard drives to no avail. Loading Factory is usually okay since it's not hard to load it and I usually deploy at the same time, but literally any other map I have to wait up to 5 minutes after my friends have already spawned. Also if I take too long to load sometimes I get a bug where everyone is running in place and everyone is invisible and soundless to me, but they can see and hear me do things and can even kill me. It's really odd.

@uncut abyss It'll depend on your HDD speed, how full it is, whether or not you defrag regularly etc. However, playing any games on a HDD now isn't really recommended. I've played with people who are on a HDD and they take 5-10 minutes to get into a game once it's already started.

Nvidia highlights was being used by cheaters to see if they killed people + wallhacks, you can still use Nvidia Shadowplay or OBS to record.
Also, you need to include the full video of them killing you and their name at the end.

Then verify the integrity of your files via the launcher / look after your PC. I've had no error crashes since having the game apart from server disconnects but that was fixed by manually selecting the servers closest to me.

You don't lose anything on Scav, relax. Yesterday I got killed by cheaters 5 times in a row on Labs, I had Slick / Exfil / best ammo equalling like 3-4mill each time but it happens.
