Goonsmith Lore Drop 1: Unofficial Tarkov Lore

A shady Ex-PMC trader, known by some of Tarkov's wealthiest residents as "The Goonsmith" has been witness disguising herself as a scav, and taking on fake Russian handles to infiltrate and take down members of well-known scav groups in the old factory.
This further supports rumors of scavs being seen entering the lighthouse tunnel with PMC's alongside them, only to never come out of the other side. How, or if the public will react is likely of no concern to the Goonsmith, as she is held up in her own secure workspace in the tunnel. PMC's report she pilfered keypads from the rumored "Lab", and has her own personal keycard. Only those close to the Goonsmith hold a copy, and she doesn't take traitors lightly, so it is unlikely this card will ever land in USEC hands, or untrusted BEAR.

Both supply and demand for weaponry skyrocket after the recent arms race. Modernized weaponry now flows through Tarkov in abundance, coming from multiple local sources.
The gunsmith confirmed to reside in the tunnel has been seen encroaching further into rogue territory for unknown reasons, leaving bodies in her wake. A group of PMCs aloud at the peninsula, reported seeing a new face, cloaked by a black hood. Her voice could be heard softly from afar as she spoke to a man that no one dares to bother. The sniper was seen supplying the Goonsmith with a small bottle of liquid. What could it be?

Tension rises, but not only between the gunsmith and the scav group that controls the factory.
A reputable and ominous source has begun sending scav patrols out for the ex-BEAR during the sunlit hours. Yet nobody has seen her, or her guards, in days. Machines still grind away inside the Goonsmith's lair, as heard through the tunnel walls.
Even more suspicious rumors come in from traveler's using the tunnel during the night. A sighting of a hooded man, leaving the workshop alone in the night, raises concerns. The hooded figure was holding 2 marked containers, and if rumors are to be believed, the sound of ice shifting in the containers was allegedly heard, which could only mean one thing...

We definitely need more expansion on the Raiders in my opinions its so much missed out content task's and possible main story line shit. In the books, it's mentioned that they have a commander, and it’s likely they’re in an alliance with the Rogues. This is hinted at during the first Ryzhy event where the Rogues and Raiders teamed up to hunt him down at the Lighthouse.

But where is their base? The Raiders are a massive group consisting of both PMCs and Scavs, led by a commander**(possibly more)**, with influence spread all over Tarkov. They’re present in Reserve, trying to break into the rest of the bunker, and in labs looting the place,
as suggested by the "Bunker" questline, “No Place for Renegades,” and other quests on reserve. This rules out both Labs and Reserve as their main base. In my opinion, the most likely location for their base is the Terragroup property bunker hidden beneath the sniper rock on Woods. Given their scale and influence, it makes sense for this to be their main stronghold. Otherwise, it’s hard to pinpoint where else the Raiders could be operating from.
On another note, regarding Reserve, the RB-PP key doesn’t currently open anything, but its description is incredibly ominous. "A key to the Radar Station bomb shelter under the Federal State Reserve Agency base. Doesn't seem to be actually used for anything though, at least for now." Could this key unlock a future area of the D2 bunkers? Could this be where Prapor will be located in the future?

A jager quest to kill them mentions that jager believes they are controlled from abroad by some powerfull figure. Peacekeepers quest mentions that his superiors, so the UN are troubled by the raiders and want them gone. So they for sure arent afiliated with the International community. My guess is that after the usec pmc collapsed terragroup is doing its best to pull strings in tarkov to assemble a group of whoever comes along to continue burrying their secrets and thats the raiders, thats why the operate in the lab. As to where their base is, the quest description to bunker pt 1 kinda makes it seem like reserve is in fact their base and they just dug out the bunker tunnels to expand their base of operation

Propors quest text: "Greetings, warrior. So here's the deal, a birdy told me that those ex-army guys WHO SECURED THE RESERVE BASE dug out some pass to the underground bunker. Of course, they didn't do it with their own hands, they forced the Scavs to do the job, and most likely none of the poor bastards made it back out. So anyway, I've got no idea what sort of bunker that is. I've had some information that it could be the command bunker. But I'm not sure if it's exactly that bunker or just a bomb shelter for the base personnel. For now, there's no use to send a big group there for them to just die to those raiders. Baisically the punisher questline talks about it, its crime guys called "The Masters"who are close friends of prapor organising fights for money and bets. They bribed what reamains of the civilian goverment of tarkov to be able to set up arenas around the city and make money from people betting on gladiator fights. As prapor gradually figures out what exactly theyre doing during the punisher questline hes kinda disgusted by it and thinks it only spreads chaos and after punisher part 6 cuts contact with them

The Masters seem to consist of the tarder Ref and the bosses Kollontai and Kaban, the 3 of them run arena but also try to take more of the money to themselves and sabotage the others, ref sends you on a series of quests to intimidate kaban and kollontai into not setting up their own champion in the arena and instead he installs you as the arena champion

Anotger interesting detail about the arena is that most of the money from bets and viewers is coming from overseas, not tarkov. Its kinda like a global gore gameshow for some rich sponsors.

I reckon that woods is surrounded by water, mountains etc., which makes it a lot more difficult to escape. In the period of contract wars, USEC tried to flee with TG documents by the bridge that connects Tarkov and the rest of Norvinsk region, but judging by EFT's skybox on lighthouse, BEAR won back then and managed to destroy it, although I don't know if it's the same one, there's at least two bridge maps in CW, and the one on lighthouse is most likely overpass

Also as Crafik already mentioned, Terminal is going to be the endgame in 1.0, it is already confirmed from raid series that you can get out if you have a labs keycard. It's just that Skif has bad luck lol

In lore the area is cordoned off by united nations peacekeeping force (Thats why peacekeeper is here, hes a part of that force). They dont let anyone in or out and i imagine there has to be some sort of a naval blockade too. Some things indicate that russian army is also a part of the safety cordon around the city but we have less evidence for that (we get a lot of quests and text mentioning the UN amd its actove operations but we dont have as much about russian army) and all RUAF facilities seem abandoned, maybe they tried to make their own peremiter before the UN got here but failed, idk.

So in conclusion there is no wilderness to escape to as there is a tight cordon in every direction, and in the sea is even harder to slip by unnoticed sven if you do find a working boat

Assuming they caught onto that and disagree with what Terragroup is doing. While the normal not rouge usecs are still covering their asses and they disagree with that

Well, the goons along with the rest of the rogues split away from usec and formed their own group which naturally made the usec pmc hostile to them, they dont consider the loyalist usecs who didnt join them any more as brothers than bears. Even after pmcs fragmented and either started doing their own unpredictable thing (like the pmcs we play as) or joined the raiders who have both locals as well as pmcs of both factions in their ranks, the rogues and by extension the goons dont trust anybody other than themselves and will defend their teritory and intrest. They collect usec dogtags cause usec betrayed their trust morals and they dont have much sympathy for the usecs who stayed loyal to terragroup and didnt join them.

(less like eft), the eft mechanics translate poorly into an arena styled game because EFT is entirely sitatuational and opportunistic, skill rarely decides the outcome of your pvp engagements and then unfortunately arena has to build upon that to somehow make a competitively viable and interesting game

is it any wonder they sold it out and made it a game with its only value being put into EFT via massive advantages over other players

I bet once they realise only 10 people out of the the 100k+ players grinded theta container that its not worth it and takes too long, then we'll get it on ref level 3 or 4 with no quest locks
