No, the only time you have had to is with 1.0, because the core gameplay loop of the game has changed, you do the tutorial and start the story and then you must progress the first story chapter to even unlock all the maps or traders, and you can eventually escape Tarkov

I feel like arena shouldn't link to PvE.... I play PvE because I'm bad, but having this sweet fruit hanging over my head that is seemingly impossible (for me) to achieve (talking about getting to the point I can transfer from Arena to PvE) is diabolical

but at the same time its PvE so who cares, I'm just sadge that I can't get past the hurdle (and they reset my progress with this patch)

It took me a week to finally get past the transfer thing, and the quests after that are even worse. It ain't worth it unless you want to put in a lot of hours to complete the quests through luck or practice and get better.

and there's a 24hcooldown and limit of 750k roubles 250 coins and 5 lega medals that you can transfer. So you'd have to play arena a lot if you're bad (like me) to get enough rewards to transfer for it to even be profitable. Getting to the better gear at rank 4 ref is blocked behind quests where you have to pay pve/pvp money to get an "attempt" at completing the quest in arena. and if you fail you gotta pay again etc. etc. Sometimes you suck, sometimes your team sucks 🤷‍♂️ it's mostly luck based on who you're up against team-wise.

Better off just doing raids on pve and getting millions every raid 😂

I personally enjoy Arena. I have Ref almost to 2.0 in PVE because of how much time I've spent in it. The problem isn't Arena... it's BSG doing BSG shit. Ohh.... were gonna release this... but match making only really starts happening when you level up Ref. You're... first match? Well, you haven't played enough for us to care.... enjoy getting matched with 1000 hour vets until you actually level. Then the game starts matchmaking.
