Hey quiet corner, I got a question for my beginners or people with exp in the field or job market, is anyone else as confused as I am when it comes to where to begin?

I mean the obvious choice of pre-security duh - but I got stuck at the different shells and decided I was too dumb and went to take the Google Cyber Security Analyst cert, because it seems like its intended for kids and people like me. Now at 70% of the Google Cert I see the path has been re-moddeled and I wonder if i'm wasting my time with the google cert (there is almost 0 hands-on labs compared to THM, but I've already invested money and time into it, so I gotta finish it).

And another question, If I decide to go for SOC L1 would I be burying myself and dreams of going purple team/ red team?

Totally get it starting in cyber can feel like a maze Finish the Google cert since you have invested time but pair it with hands on labs like TryHackMe to actually practice SOC L1 wont bury your red or purple team dreams if you keep learning offensive skills on the side Shells are confusing at first focus on practical usage and it will click naturally
