In all likelihood you’ll have access to clusters and remote desktops, make use of them because they’ll have decent specs at times. You could potentially go to uni without a laptop (albeit you’ll be at a heavy disadvantage) so don’t worry too much about your laptop
But with that said there’s no harm in getting something to play with in terms of what you learn at Uni
