one thing to take into account is that modern distro's are using the machine-id for getting a dynamic IP and not the mac-address so make sure you regen the machin id if your working from a clone but you've said you setup a static adress so that shouldn't be the issue here. reinstall is the quickest option otherwise you're troubleshooting it for another 30-45 min whilea reinstall takes only 5 -10 min xD

yeah the static IP shouldn't have the same IP address that another machine is using. It should be permanently assigned to the server alone for that reason, or else it will get assigned to another machine using it. I've had this issue before with mine.

Yeah I have...its actually really interesting. It does pretty well at creating the environments strictly from user prompt. Ive also added more to the build phase, where the agent actually has to do manual exploitation itself prior to it being served so the environment is confirmed to be a working lab. I’m still working on expanding the build process, especially for cases where the agent struggles to deploy larger or more niche software packages tied to specific vulnerabilities.

If you’re on XFCE and only have 2 GB RAM, the main problem is still the RAM, not the N100. XFCE is lighter than Cinnamon or GNOME, but 2 GB is still extremely tight for modern Linux, especially once you open a browser.

Since you can’t upgrade right now, do this:

• make sure swap is enabled
• keep browser tabs to an absolute minimum
• disable startup apps you do not need
• avoid heavy apps like Discord/Electron stuff
• use lighter apps where possible

Run these:

free -h
swapon --show
df -h

If swap is missing, that will make the system feel even worse.

Best survival tips:

• Use Firefox with as few tabs as possible
• Disable auto-start apps
• Do not run chat apps if browser is open
• Use terminal tools when possible
• Make sure swap exists
• Keep disk space free
