Yeah, I was a HUGE supported of THM for the past 4 years. I've made hundreds of videos for them for free, still am good friends with many of their staff.

Like many other long-term members, my breaking point was when Ben publicly advertised that he was using THM data to build a separate AI start-up. This includes the official room and content I created for the platform free of charge.

When I brought up my concerns, we were told to opt out by "deleting your account", and then I looked at THM's Glassdoor and spoke to former (and current) THM employees and realized the culture is terrible directly due to Mr. Spring based on all accounts online and convos

I asked THM to remove my endorsement 2 months ago -- both privately via email and public on LinkedIn. It's still there, and multiple people have purchased the PT1 -- and thanked me for the endorsement -- which is very frustrating

When you notice all the influencers instantly making videos about each THM cert, they are making good money. Somewhere in the range of $1,000 - $5,000 (or more) to make the videos. From the former THM people I know personally, this review is spot on. The verify bot is broken so I cannot post a screenshot of it, but you can find it on Glassdoor.

This is rewarded with hostile messaging from senior leadership, complete silence from an absent co-founder, and the farcical experience of discovering major company decisions via LinkedIn posts rather than internal communication.

Workload increases are constant. Support is nonexistent. Anyone who signals they want boundaries, balance, or a life outside of work is quietly managed out. Burnout is not a risk here — it is the operating model.

HR’s role appears to be purely cosmetic. Employees are thanked endlessly for their “feedback,” which has been raised repeatedly, formally, and over long periods of time. Nothing changes. Ever. The feedback loop exists only to create the illusion of care while ensuring zero accountability.

Leadership urgently needs to stop avoiding difficult conversations. Decisions made at the top are actively damaging morale, delivery quality, and long-term viability. The impact is already visible as attention drifts toward unrelated ventures while the core business deteriorates under the weight of internal dysfunction.

Middle management and PMs function primarily as liability shields. Unrealistic timelines are accepted without challenge to protect personal job security. The consequences are pushed entirely onto ICs, who are expected to “make it work” through excessive hours and personal sacrifice. The end result is predictable: rushed, half-formed deliverables produced under extreme pressure so leadership can declare a deadline met, regardless of quality or human cost.

Despite repeated reminders being necessary: employees are people. They have lives, families, and limits. Sixteen-hour days and weekend work are treated as normal expectations rather than alarming failures of planning and leadership.

HR deserves particular scrutiny. Basic, legally required documentation requested by HMRC took over two months to provide, while HMRC contacted me daily. This does not even account for severe payroll and tax errors that resulted in UK employees suddenly being asked to pay thousands in unexpected taxes due to internal accounting mistakes. This is not a “process issue.” It is operational negligence.

HR’s approach is performative at best: surveys, listening sessions, and carefully worded responses with no outcomes, no transparency, and no follow-through. From an employee perspective, HR does not function as a support system — it functions as a risk-management layer for leadership.

Anyone inclined to dispute this publicly is welcome to try. Every example above is directly observable and verifiable. This is not emotional exaggeration; it is a factual account of daily reality.

I would suggest hiring managers and PMs with backbone, but history shows that those who demonstrate independent judgment or challenge unrealistic demands are removed quickly. Compliance is rewarded. Competence is optional.

What makes this especially painful is that it didn’t used to be this way. I was here for years. I believed in the mission. I gave far more than was ever required. Watching leadership and HR systematically choose self-preservation over accountability while the culture collapses in plain sight is deeply upsetting and entirely avoidable.

This company is not failing because people don’t care. It is failing because the people who care most are being ignored, exploited, or pushed out.

And many other things, I have built a foundational knowledge where I’m good enough and I just wanna learn analyst stuff and get advanced in monitoring and threat detection, etc….
