From all the experience I've seen around me by peers, best way is to just get stuck in.

Draft up a small project of sorts. Full stack web app on FastAPI, some form of port scanner with a fancy QT GUI, some doodad in PyGame, anything.

Then, pop open docs for all your relevant bits and bobs. W3schools and python docs for the syntax, any libraries you end up using.

Pick a nice code editor/IDE, something like Jetbrains' Pycharm or VS Code. Get a nice LSP for all your completions and whatnot. Make it look homely, get a nice theme, it'll be your temple for the next few weeks.

Pop up a quick Github repo, clone into it, make a nice tidy folder structure (trust me, it'll save you many gray hairs), and just get cracking.

Absolutely, different ways work for different peeps, there's no right or wrong.

Some might really enjoy pre-defined structure. They may find websites like Code Camp useful, and solving small problems leads up to that skill of being able to solve real ones efficiently and quickly, having a stronger handle on the logical flow of things.

I personally like the more creative side of programming so the "design, draft, implement" workflow is a must. I can't really learn without a clear incentive and end-goal, so it gives me direction and purpose throughout the process.

There's probably plenty 😅 but programming is a very expansive field with a lot of different niches and desirable skills, so as long as you're of how important docs and comments are and you spring-clean your Git repos, you should be fine

There isn't one right way, there are just ways that are worse then others. Whether you structure yourself through pre-defined platforms or structure yourself through your own designing and drafting, structure is most certainly needed or you will go out of scope constantly and not learn anything in specific until you are spiraling without truly learning any one thing
