If you want to make your life easier, I learned this the hard way ..

export the damn splunk to a CSV and use python to search it

The best feature of Splunk is the EXPORT TO CSV

here, you can use this class

So I would assume it's network based?

that will seach for that ip address in those columns of the export

I wrote those scripts so I could easily searrch the splunk logs without splunk

it worked great and got me a lot of answers

i made one for hostnames, files, layer4, scriptblocks

rust can do most of what c++ can just under ⁨unsafe⁩ so if you want to, go for it, otherwise learn your current lang better

i like c++ just because i don't have to fight the compiler when i know what i'm doing works
