if you have another machine, turn off the suspect pc and use the other device to login and invalidate all sessions, change pwds etc. Do you know actual compromise used? (as it would help with cleaning). Assume more has been dropped (maintain persistence) possibly custom (scheduled tasks / startup) rather than mallicious (as defender could spot and block that).

I have my ISP modem/router/AP, which gives best speeds but doesn't allow for downstream routing config. I also have a cheap router/AP that does, but with worse throughput.

I'm wiring it so everything plugs into a layer 3 switch. some devices go direct to ISP modem, some route to cheap router, which is connected on the WAN port to the switch, routed via switch to the ISP modem

bascially, made a friend online (was a catfish), sent me a unity "game" they made, when double clicked exe, camera flashed, vivaldi (my browser) closed and it asked for admin access, of course i clicked no upon the admin request, i checked with chat gpt turned out was a python script, after that i did a full root scan after rebooting, came up empty, did a offline scan as well came up empty. After a month or so all my social media platforms got hacked, gpt said it was session tokens getting stolen, so i changed all my account passwords etc to invalidate the session tokens, this morning my instagram and i think my main discord got hacked (i got a message saying my account was limited)

Hi, I used to be active on this platform back then at 2019-2020.

I recently returned to this platform to refresh and build cyber related skills since I have been away from cyber industry for a few years(worked as InfoSec Practitioner)

There are so many rooms and paths that I’m pretty lost lol

I think back then I had the “skill” that is a mix of T2 SOC Analyst in terms of investigating deep threats all round and also performing malware analysis on malicious files (include a bit of advanced static analysis with IDA if needed)

I’m not mentioning the red side skills here but they were handy as well.

Now the thing is, I don’t know how to choose modules/paths without wasting time.

For example I never been an actual SOC analyst (T1) and the rooms seems very boring to me and I speed run cause it’s easy, while I’m sure if I were interviewed I’d not know the answers(so the logic of reading a few lines in the room and then a moment later a question related doesn’t help much)

Should I skip straight to Malware Analysis and maybe DFIR? Or maybe first take some SOC rooms related like learning about security measures and loggings?

When I should add a mix of red based rooms again ? Damn I’m lost.

Time is important for me, I have a family nowadays so I want to stop wasting time on rooms that I just get points without learning much
