I can get another laptop but it should be under $900 and consider the requirements I've stated I'm getting recommended mac air cause it has the best chip in that price point with amazing optimization and I'll be using it for the initial learning phase by the time I'll get very into pentesting and all I should have enough to get myself a better laptop but till then while I climb my way up there I'm being recommended this. And I'll use it as my personal pc too since my laptop gave up on me few days ago :D

Personally, I find the amount of RAM and storage much more important than "best chip" - Homelab + Notes take up a lot of space and if your CPU has like 4-5 cores you'll be fine

Also, iirc Macbooks run on ARM now and there's been some problems with getting certain things running on them + tampering with MacOS is limited, which is not optimal if you'd want to ex. switch to Linux in a near future

thats not true the "gaming laptops" if you know your components you can get good stuff , GPU's are amazing for cracking passwords
