Search up the errors, probably someone else had same problem. Watch youtube video how to install kali to virtual box and follow it. Or you can allso install the virtual box file from kali’s website if you tried to install with iso.

Oh I see. They use "Box" to reference both step by step modules AND CTF challenge etc. If it is a learning module, I'd say ... just read carefully, keep going. Don't fret about going fast or slow. It might feel slower to you but compared to everyone else you might be going at the same speed?

I'd have to retract my steps. But I remember for the sudo task, I would write a .c script, and it just wouldnt compile it on the target machine

kde is desktop env, nothing to do with OS you are running. You dont have to run Kali, but you need an oS with tools that you can use for the target machine
