So I’m wondering whether I should:

• keep this laptop despite the noise, or

• switch to a quieter model, even if it’s a bit less powerful, but more suitable for quiet environments (ThinkPad, ThinkBook etc.).

Sleep is fine for the most part. I work a 2nd shift so it's not the typical sleep cycle. I do notice a difference before work vs afterwork in the ability to concentrate.

You don’t need to go into your REM cycle to get rest from a nap. In fact, a lot of people feel more tired after napping too long. Try an hour long nap or less.
