Ive been full of ideas lately. What do you all think of this. Its not originally mine its been kicked around a bit.

Instead of the total US defense spending of $850 billion a year on expeditionary forces we cut the budget in half downsizing all offensive forces and modernizing our nuclear arsenal for deterrence.

With the $425 billion freed we then start an engineering/science corps dedicated to solving engineering problems for the betterment of humanity. We can create legions of scientists and engineers attacking problems with lightning speed and efficiency.

It seems like a much better model than funding the defense industries push to create autonomous murder bots.
