proton basically cheeses compatibility most of the time;

and the games that run linux natively like psychonauts 2 for instance get better performance than windows at the same hardware level;

just that most games you are running through a conversion layer of proton so its a hit to performance in some cases;

part of the problem is by default windows has A LOT of bloat running;

Yeah it seems like dramas and similar media in forenign languages are much eaiser to understand than native speaking just due to the pacing of the dialog

I've studied in English, many courses, I worked in English and I lived in UK and NY, even when I study in other languages I take notes in English 🙂

Haha my boss had me talk to one of his friends who owns a different MSP today, as I'm resident security person. Guy was asking for advice on pentesting but what he really wanted was just external vunlerability scanning. Just had to explain the distinctions and etc

In the end I just recommend OpenVAS/Greenbone Community Containers. Yeah not the most friendly UI but hey it is indeed free

Yep, I used to give talks, and workshops for non-tech people, about best cybersecurity practices 🙂 after that was a campain with a few phishing emails to see how much people understood, they didn't know about the emails (only managment knew about it) the ones who fail had to do a more intensive training, it was a good gig 🙂

lol I remember way back in the day when Nessus was still open source and yeah that's where that whole split happened when Nessus went paid and closed source (iirc)

good choice, you can get ton of info with openvas/greenbone. A bit of a learning curve but it's free 🤣

That's good, yeah we still struggle with some of our clients, but I'm glad how many "False Positives" our clients are reporting, they're learning to be cautious of anything that looks weird even when it turns out to be legit

Thankfully our new email security system does legit filter out a good 98% of phishing or so. Get a ton of quarantine restore requests with "I know this sender" and yep, person got comprimised by O365 phishing and is now spreading it

yes, that phishing was planted by me with the auth of management to see how much people learnt and paid attention to the talks and workshops. Where mandatory workshops 🙂

When they clicked on the link the msg was "You failed the test, management will be contacting you" 🤣

Quite a few, I only got into RetroAchievements ealier this year after being resistant to it because I was afraid it would make me replay a ton of game. Well it is making me replay a ton of games but I don't mind.

In short, A Link to the Past, Metroid Zero Mission, GTA: Vice City, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Animal Crossing: Wild World are some I'm focusing on

FF7 remake was alright but very different. 100%ing that is no joke tho with having to replay the chapters and etc. I think it's legit easier to 100% FF VII original

not that I can talk having not done so, but when I looked into what it would take to 100% FFVII Rebirth, I just couldn't bother

completing the vr missions in rebirth looks unappealing at the very least lol

had done 400h in elden ring, don't want to spend that long in a video game anymore

I just have much less incentive to do so because while it's a neat game, I couldn't justify the time and effort to do so, compared to genuine classics

Not like I care tons about 100%ing games anyways, in the past I just wanted to beat games, but now I do enjoy going off the beaten path to discover things I wouldn't have otherwise due to achievements or just secrets.

So even replaying a lot of these games I've played in the past, it's interesting having the extra challenge of discovering tons of things I didn't know about just to fufill some of these RetroAchievements

I couldn't tell you based on that screenshot, but Bloodhound did pivot into paid enterprise software, and community edition is likely the best you're going to get
