If the person openly posts their location publicly, simply noting it is fine, but storing or re-using it still falls under GDPR. Inferring or triangulating an exact address from multiple public clues counts as processing sensitive personal data and generally requires consent or a strong lawful basis. Using non-public data like IPs or Discord logs is not OSINT at all and is outright illegal. First of all, I would be hesitant to use terms like most, best, etc. when speaking about security. However, GrapheneOS is a very secure and privacy respecting mobile operating system. It will likely tick all of the boxes (and then some) if all you care about is security/privacy. However, it can have some real usability issues if you're a casual user.

Stock Android and iOS are also pretty secure (far more than any traditional desktop/server operating system), but they both suck in terms of privacy. iOS is a lot better with privacy, but it still sucks in a lot of ways.

GrapheneOS's security and privacy posture can also make you a bigger target as well. For example, in some countries people with Pixel devices are considered to be "shady" because a lot of drug dealers started using GrapheneOS for privacy reasons.

I tend to agree with this statement. The state of security in traditional operating systems, especially with a lack of hardware-based security standardization, is absolutely abysmal. However, Apple Silicon devices are probably the next best bet for most people. Full verified boot, secure enclave, lots of options for on-device processing, strong FDE, etc, etc.
