Hello! I did the Pre Security, Cyber Security 101 and I am currently on SOC level 1. I try to go slow and understand everything, but there is so much! I feel like there is no way to retain everything I'm learning, not even with notes. I'm aiming to become a SOC Analyst, but I don't just want the title, I really want to know my shit. I stay away completely from ChatGPT except when I need something explained in more detail.
I guess what I want to ask is, if anyone has some advice for a complete beginner that is full of doubt about learning all of this, especially for the SOC Analyst path. Like, do I really need to know, and will I use all the things that are listed in this learning path? Like, how the hell am I supposed to know and remember all of this stuff? Am I overcomplicating this for myself?
I learn best with hands-on experience, but I can't get that, since without the proper knowhow I won't get a job to get that experience.
I don't know man, I guess I'm just a little overwhelmed on how big all of this feel.
