It’s most likely a majority of those security vendors dramatically redesigned their sites since, thus breaking the links even if the sources do still exist

That being said if you want these links with the least amount of effort, yeah just see if IA has them archived around 8 years ago

No there’s never been an understanding there due to the difficulties of both attribution and just vendor specific info silos

I don’t really see a way around that unfortunately even with modern info and threat sharing between orgs. Security vendors can only report a range of confidance even with their own “brand names”, just because they share tactical commonalities and if they’re lucky, infrastructure

Yeah they all have their own insane names lol, each org kinda decides on a naming scheme even if the security community knows a threat actor group by a sensable name

plus, unfortunately for us but fortunate to their marketing, their specific names lead back to that security vendors specifically

So it’s both hard and less profitable to find a solution to this

Just think back two years ago when CrowdStrike had their silly “Threat Actor” action figure like statues at shows to personify the threats… of course using their vendor specific names

Even when I’m not actively using Burp, I’m still using Burp as the SOCKS proxy to my pentesting server so it’s always there avaliable for capture (but mainly because good SOCKS proxy lol)

No problem, and do keep in mind that my XFCE example is just like one specific use case. The entire distro is like that where you have to build it up like building blocks, Linux is extremely modular

But yeah Arch Wiki spells basically everything out. Best in class documentation for literally any system you want to understand

Even for other distros just replace the pacmans and the other Arch specific stuff and you have what you need to know

I’ll just warn you before starting, you may see some say to pacman -Sy everytime, that’s a bad practice which leads to partial updates

if you’re going to y to sync repos, just to Syu to update everything since this is a rolling release distro

Should only need to do that when the package you’re looking for is no longer found in the repository, that meant it got updated

We just don’t do any transcoding for our plex honestly. I meant more for the media we bought, to ensure we’re transcoding in the highest quality, since NVENC isn’t nessessarly “archival quality” but yeah perfect for your use case

ehh it’s a constant ebb and flow. A lot of the time defensively is not actually responding to these, those are like peaks on a graph. Most of the time is implementing better defensive measures and especially security in depth

there should be no single point of failure ideally, even if one thing is breached, you ideally have another measure in place to prevent that from getting out of hand
