there's no need to "switch". languages are used for different purposes. c++ and python can be used for different things. c++ is used a lot in maldev and game hacking for instance. java is not really used that widely in hacking or cybersecurity as far as i am aware. python is used quite a lot for scripting along with golang. rust is another popular language.

also it is not mandatory to learn programming to get into cybersecurity, however it is highly recommended. you can do a lot by using automated tools, or using tools made by someone else but being able to write your own scripts or make your own tools, takes you to a whole new level in this domain

if you can, i'll suggest learn the basics of python. there are rooms on tryhackme that you can look up, by using the search feature. there are plenty of videos on youtube as well. here is another good resource to get you started: https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/information-security/
