Well your keywords are opened as a file object but later on they're used in a loop, this will just work once.
No error handling for HTTP requests, no timeout specified for reqs.

Just pass values straight between functions, like return urls and keywords from setup() then pass them to scan()
Then use class if your code becomes too long of a spaghetti, using globals is usually something you should avoid cuz it makes life harder for you. So just return values from setup() and pass them as arguments

I used to do Fluxbox then Openbox, and slowly more and more XFCE and LXDE components creeped in until I started actually using XFCE for real again around 2010. I had weak hand me down hardware throughout the 00s

Yes, XFCE is just fine about customization

It’s completely modular (which is why I could use just certian components of it) and theming is good

it’s mainly just what’s your GTK theme, what’s your XFWM theme

If you want, XFCE fully supports using another window manager that isn’t XFWM
