I wouldn’t use arch as my daily driver. IMHO Arch is to play with and learn a lot, as daily driver go with other more stable distro so issues from the rolling won’t impact your daily work flow

The entire way it talks to your computer's hardware uses a completely different paradigm. But everything is open source and you can fine tune literally whatever you want down to the most minute detail. It's also significantly less resource-hungry than windows so you can optimize old hardware to perform a lot better than it would with windows. Oh definitely, still a good idea to install Linux native on something even just a VM. A lot of pentesting requires you to be at least somewhat comfortable inside Linux and some familiarity with its base utilities and file structure

here's the thing about Linux: stuff breaks a lot more often but it's way easier to figure out what broke and how to fix it. Stuff breaks in windows occasionally but it can take months to figure out its cause because event viewer and everything are terrible

The last Nvidia update locked me out of my encrypted drive, had to learn how luks works to get my files back. I have been locked out of linux at least thrice in the past and thats by only using linux for 2-3 weeks each time i was testing various distros. I recommend messing around more with DIstroSea and taking a look at other popular distros and maybe try out other "versions" (they're having you select a desktop environment. you should be comfortable configuring all kinds of system-level utilities. Or at least have some vague idea of how to do it. Knowledge of Linux Plumbing helps but is not required, LFS is how I learned plumbing in the first place
