As Hex said, there was a time when THM as a business was built around the community. This is where we hung out, shared new ideas, helped each other with rooms, etc.
Over the years, as the company has grown, the Discord has become ever more corporate.

This is the latest symptom of that, and in many ways it's the death knell for that ideal. The symbolism of the entire volunteer mod team -- some of whom have been around from the very beginning -- being pushed out of the community they spent countless hours voluntarily protecting by the company deciding that the community means less than the business.
THM has grown so much, and done amazingly well. The staff have built it into a really strong company, and they should be very proud of that. Hell, I'm proud, having seen it grow from 2019 onwards.

But the community was a casualty of that, unfortunately.
These days it exists as an extension of the company, rather than its heart.
