but times have changed, lots of work is remote, and lots of hiring is happening over seas

I've lived in a few countries, depends on the company, also degree in not a requirement for many tech jobs, plus I've seen people who hold a degree and didn't have any practical knowledge on the subject and also people who didn't have a degree and wipe the floor with people who did 🙂
