I love Guatemala and Vietnam. What really makes a country for us is the people, and those two check the box. Also liked England because we did house sitting and met amazing people... Best travel tip is to stop being a tourist. Airbnb instead of hotels, cook your own meals (this is for longer-term travel) and find what tour companies offer, then do them on your own (except historical stuff, but you can also find guides at the place that are far cheaper than a tour).

For instance, going through a regular tour company for a tour we saw recently was US$275 per person. With a friend of ours who is a tour organizer, it was US$90, or you can do it yourself for even cheaper
