Anyone can participate in the CTF, even if you haven't got your fundamentals down, you can use it as a good learning experience, especially if you read write-ups and such after the event to see what you might've missed; I would suggest going for a few challenge rooms to see if you have an idea of what you're doing before the event, but don't stress to much

Python libraries work differently than something like Node modules; they’re installed in the environment, but your script will still remain a single .py file

That said, AI assistance is becoming more common in the field, and some exams are starting to test with it, but if it's not explicitly stated that it's allowed, I'd suggest avoiding it for now 😁
