You can automate CMS' by finding the version number and then attempting from a list of CVEs

Idea is to essentially automate specific functions and then provide utility forms for specific tools so if you wanted to quickly perform subdomain enumeration or something you just select the Wordlist and enter the domain and select one of the subdomain enumeration utilities.

In essense I'm trying to create a hub that would essentially embed utilities commonly utilized during assessment. oh lol, thinking of Linux things. I got AirPlay going on TVs for hotels that we're provisioning at work, using a Linux server + proprietary docker setup. Was quite happy about that...

For Hotels, you can't just "use Airplay" or else it would try to cast on half of the TVs, so you need a system to make it per room and etc

I'm not huge on how much Ubuntu likes to push snap packages constantly, it's a pain and basically everyone else has decided AppImage or Flatpaks are better

I think SAL 1 will give you the skills you need to jump into SOC positions. but might not have enough clout as Security+ .. for me having both it's a waste of time as both are kindda entry level certs

Yea. Since you have dev experience. Build some dashboards, configure some alerts in splunk. to enchance skillls. Play also the SOC simulator to get hands on practice and you will be good to go

Understanding the tools is easy but to apply them in a real scenario requires experience and a certain mindset. The main problem is what to look for in a given situation.
When doing training on THM or similar platforms, your are always given hints, but IRL you have to figure it out yourself.

Not as an Sec engineer . Just as a SOC. For me it worked this way. knowing the tools , having a solid understanding of the fundamentals to get started in cyber. OFC most of the real world experience i got from the job itself but no real world scenarios can be replicated in a project or smth
