linux is useful for just about everything outside of gaming and casual use.

hell, scratch the last part. casual use linux has been becoming a thing. I know plenty of people who install linux first thing when buying a new pc.

We have to use it sometimes for school. Just only certain occasions.

Windows might be hated but at any relevant tech job, you will be working with it one way or another. Especially when it comes to pentesting/security.
