I said that MOST professors don't know whats beyond the overview of the class. Yes you might go to a college that may hold itself to higher standards, but for most people they're going to interface w professors that are going to be overworked, and giving many different lectures in a variety of courses. Yes they may have an idea of what they're talking about but I'm focusing on the ones that are pressured into teaching a course they really didn't have a whole lot of experience in, but more than the other professors so they end up covering it!
