if ur thinking about how to hide the port youre running HTTP on, you can use something called portspoof, which will show a program like NMAP that all ports on the host are open. you could then put it on an arbitrary/random port

if you have any port publically exposed to the internet, it will be scanned. there are bots that constantly scan IP's for open ports and vulnerabilities

if your machine is on a local network, and is NOT publically accessible, say your home network, no you should not expect to be scanned

also found out that if you scan all ports with nmap not only the commonly used ones, "it may reduce stealth". 🥷

depending on the logging available on defender side, you could say if # of ports connected to via ip exceeds 50, send alert for port scanning

set up an easy python http server on one, scan from the other
