Although i would recommend you to start with some easier ones like LFI or SSRF , don't go immediately with request smuggling or oauth vulns. Those harder ones expect you to have some earlier knowledge of those easier concepts , I think that there're some guided modules on WSA , complete them first 🙂 .

CSRF / Clickjacking / cors are better explained on BURP but their client side labs are really buggy you will probably have some problems with their bot in them . THM have much better client side labs than burp but explanation is better on burp side imo . Request smuggling is great on both , i can't choose a winner there. XXE and SSRF definitely burp. Info disclosure - THM. LFI,file uploads,rce-burp . When it comes to caching definitely burp i don't think that THM even has cache labs . Majority of labs is more detailed on THM . In short combine them both as you go , they complement each other in a great way . If you don't understand something at first Burp read it on THM and vice versa 🙂

True, but I doubt AI can progress past the point of being an assistive tool. There's just too much that's a part of DFIR that requires manual validation and confirmation logging. Unless they decide to change the standards entirely.

In any case @fringe nacelle it certainly can be exciting. DFIR, regardless of what flavor you choose - incident analysis, digital crime investigation, etc - is essentially "puzzle solving." Putting pieces of a story together, establishing a timeline, trying to find secrets based on artifacts and logs. If you like that sort of cerebral activity, it's exceedingly satisfying and fun to do.
