Obviously, we don't expect normal users to use @ everyone (which I know wasn't the case for you), but it looks like the bot only checks messages for the denied characters rather than the mention itself 😓

I am looking to develop an automoderator for our current moderation bot, hopefully to replace the other bot.
This one will attempt to inform users before outright muting them. It will have other QoL features as well.

It's not planned until mid 2025 however because we have to rewrite the entire bot from the ground up.
It's on my list though! I promise:)

Upto tier 3 ( not including tier 3 ) and THM already covers all those topics without giving you pain in the a..s Tier 2 is basic knowledge consider it tryhackme's pre-security and Jr.pentester Path but with alot of research to do on your own which can became a issue for someone who's just hopping on the cyber security field

Personally i think HTB is worth it because of there Tier3 and uper modules which are all extremely expensive but gladly tryhackme is catching up as well so soon enough one platform will be enough

I’d rather take a few extra minutes to try to rehabilitate someone because it can leave a lasting impact - not just on that person, but on the community as a whole. It sets the tone that we’re here to help, not push people away. That kind of culture inspires others to be supportive, too.
The IT field can be incredibly toxic for newcomers, and I never want someone to join TryHackMe and have the kind of negative experiences I’ve seen in other communities (not just big ones, but also smaller ones).

As for bans, there’s no strict criteria. I try to gauge whether keeping someone in the community would be harmful overall. Each case is unique, and it can be really easy to dismiss someone before we have seen their full story.

I have been here for five years and it has taken a while to find a balance. I certainly didn't take the time to listen to people when I first became moderator, but my experience has allowed me to see that it's better to assume everyone has good intention because it leads to a healthier community.

if you are using a Kali for more than one engagement i'd say look at how you are using your system. I use a golden image that I know works, and I just spawn a clone for each engagement
