You know, when it comes to windows, we all know they are some of the most vulnerable boxes for a multitude of reasons. High market share, more eyes on it, not open source, etc etc the list goes on.

What's also funny, is that I am finding myself more and more struggling with more advanced windows boxes and I think that is hilarious. Linux box? I am almost intuitively able to sniff out a path.

Yea, I just haven't spent as much time now I realize as I should have in my career and in my studies pen'ning them.

As it stands I have a strong systems engineering background among others so I often config/secure them, and monitor them from a security perspective via various tools. But never really spent the time trying to break them to this degree.

I was learning about kerberoasting last night and golden ticket attacks etc because it's something I have had to fight from a defensive perspective often in my career and secure against. I knew how to do it, and in my own lab have done it, but going through some challenges that impliment it, it really taught me there was a lot more to learn in general.

I know that OSCP has a heavy area on AD in general so I thought I would go in and make sure my Win Pen testing knowledge was up to snuff and now I am like damn, down the rabbit hole I go

You can get into this line of work with a felony, a lot of hackers carry them, its going to be all about context and what that felony was, was it for computer crimes that are obscene? No. You are screwed. Was it for "hacking" then yea maybe, mostly its the gov jobs or jobs that require clearance that will tell you you are DQ. Was the felony for batter/assault etc, or theft? Also going to be a hard no. So context is key.
